Release of our first wine from our own vineyard, "Kaze no Uta 2024," and Chardonnay Hachi 2024 & Wine Club 2025 First Half Recruitment

Thank you very much for your continued patronage.

We are pleased to announce the release of our first wine from our own vineyard, "Song of the Wind," Chardonnay Hachi 2024, and recruitment for the first half of 2025 Wine Club.

We have finally finished making a wine from grapes grown in our own vineyard. The wine is called "Song of the Wind."

Song of the Wind 2024

Wine type: White wine (still)
Year of production: 2024 Grape production area: Vineyards in Higashikawa, Hokkaido Grape varieties: Gewürztraminer 26%, Muller-Thurgau 20%, Sauvignon Blanc 20%, Silvaner 12%, Pinot Gris 8%, Zweigelt 6%, Bacchus 4%, Pinot Blanc 4%
Type: Medium-bodied Alcohol content: 12.0%
Number of bottles produced: 231 Reference price: 3,740 yen (online store price, including consumption tax)

This refreshing white wine is made from grapes grown in sunny, windy fields at the foot of Mount Kitoushi in Higashikawa.

Many of the vines in Yukikawa Brewery's fields are young, and in 2024, due to frost that fell in the early morning of May 9th, during the bud break, the yield was much lower than expected. As a result, the wine was fermented in a mosaic-like blend of various varieties (in addition to "Song of the Wind," the 2024 vintage also sees the production of another in-house vineyard wine).

The wine's name, "Song of the Wind," was chosen as a homage to Haruki Murakami's debut novel, "Hear the Wind Sing."

About this wine

The color is a pale lemon yellow with a slight beige tint.

The fragrance is a mix of various scents including white flowers, green apple, blue herbs and tangerine orange.

When you put it in your mouth, you can feel the various aromas along with the restrained acidity, and a slight bitterness remains in the aftertaste. We recommend starting with a cold temperature (10-12℃) and then raising the temperature to enjoy the changes.

Good pairings include grilled sea bream with kinome leaves, Goi Cuong (Vietnamese spring rolls), and stir-fried chrysanthemum and pork belly with salt.

[Please note] Due to the limited production of "Song of the Wind," sales on the online store are limited to one bottle per person.
